Damon and his team have represented my wife and I during the purchase or sale of a home four times. One of the purchases was new construction. Earnshaw & Co. more than lived up to our expectations. In a lot of cases the typical agent will just show you home and make some light recommendations. Unlike the typical agent, The Earnshaw group clearly differentiates themselves by understanding what builds value in a house and how to obtain/create that value. Their services go well beyond the sale because they are looking out for your net worth. We were instantly satisfied because we were getting constructive critiques, honest answers, and a constant education on the market on a daily basis. When my wife and I began the building our dream home two years ago, I had no idea where to begin or how the entire process would work. We have moved 8 times in 13 years - always in different states. This was the 1st time that I did not get along with the realtor we were referred to. We engaged Damon to both sell our home, and to help us find a new one. We could not have been happier with the way both turned out! We were selling our home in a very tough market, with several homes on our street and many homes in our neighborhood also for sale. We are fairly experienced homebuyers / sellers and are used to the routine. So when we interviewed several agents to sell our house in Overland Park we were pleasantly surprised when Damon Earnshaw showed up with marketing plan in hand. Damon brimmed with confidence that not only could we sell our house for a good price (yes, even in a down market) but that we could sell it quickly. I went to a couple realtors in the area to get a feel for the market place after what felt like a pretty successful job interview. I was coming from Chicago, and was clueless about Kansas City. Several weeks prior to listing our home Damon provided us a listing consultation. We followed each and every piece of advice before putting the home on the market. Most changes were minor and inexpensive suggestions that made a real difference in the appearance of our home. Our home sold in three days. It was an exciting experience to sell our home so quickly, however this left us a bit anxious considering our new home search had been limited to online virtual viewings. Damon kept us calm and focused and we were able to view ample homes over the next several days. We had always been a bit skeptical about hiring an agent to sell our home. We would often walk away wondering why we couldn't do it ourselves. Damon's personality isn't to get the job done--it's to get the job done better than anyone else. I have used Earnshaw and Co. to buy three houses. Every time I get the itch to move, someone suggests that I do FSBO. This seems logical since I do have an interest in this area and would enjoy doing it. However, I want my house to sell, and I want it to sell FAST! Damon's wealth of advice is valuable--except when you don't take it. We bought a house on the corner of three streets (two of which were very busy) against Damon's advice. We have moved due to corporate relocations several times during my career. When we received the call to move from Overland Park to Houston, TX we were very nervous about selling our house with the current state of the economy and housing market. We had two choices when selling our house: The agent you know (the lousy, overbearing realtor who initially sold us the house) or the agent you don't know (someone who wasn't afraid to work his tail off to sell our home). We went with the latter option and hired Damon after extensively interviewing several realtors who were selling homes in our neighborhood. We purchased a lot to build another home on and needed to sell our current residence as soon as possible. We had interest payments and a baby on the way! Unfortunately that was right about the time the market began its decline as well. When we met with Damon, he was still very positive and confident regarding our selling potential and willing to do whatever it took to move the house. They came immediately and took great photographs for the listing, as well as doing a virtual tour. Damon was sensitive to the needs we had regarding showings and helped when he could since one of us was very large, sick and uncomfortable! Who would sell their house in a market like this? Only people who have a great realtor working for them on the buying and selling end of the project - thank goodness for Damon! My husband and I had been looking at homes on and off for a year when we absolutely found "the one." It was November of 2008 and the housing market was terrible, the economy wasn't great and the holiday season was beginning. Needless to say, we weren't convinced this would be a seamless process but we trusted Damon. There was a bidding war going on for the home we wanted to purchase and because Damon had the foresight to throw in a couple of extras in our contract for the home, we had the winning bid by less than $100. We never would have thought to put the add-ins on the contract - thank goodness for Damon. Now all we had to do was sell our current home at the time...It was on the market for about two weeks before we got our first offer - we couldn't believe it! Damon helped us with a few changes to help make it "sellable" and we thought the process was too good to be true! My wife and I were very nervous about selling our first home last year. Similar homes in our neighborhood listed by others were not selling. We were put into a situation of having to sell our house due to job relocation and the market was not the most favorable. My husband and I bought our first house from Damon 6 years ago, so we knew the attention and support we were going to get from him and his team. We didn't have a good experience with our last house sale (before Damon began in the real estate business) and now we needed to sell our house fast. I have known Damon since college and know of few that work as hard at he does. He answered our phone call that evening and was at our house at 6 am the next morning. He helped us stage it and then recommended a contractor for the improvements. The contractor called at 7:30 am to set up a time for an estimate and was there at 11 am to bid on the work. The written estimate was emailed to us that afternoon. The bid was very reasonable and they began work the next morning. After 4 days, we were on the market and in 12 days sold! This was July of 2008 at a time when the market didn't seem good for a fast sale. Damon helped us price it right to begin with and then worked with the prospective buyer to give us a great offer considering that it was really a buyer's market.
