Testimonials are a very powerful tool that you can use to sell more ebooks and the best part about using them is that they are FREE! So make sure you use them to your full advantage. Here are 7 tips to get your started today!
1. Ask Your Customers For Testimonials. The truth is that people don’t like to ask for a testimonial. And easy way to do this is to ask during a virtual ebook tour, at the end of your ebook, on a teleseminar, and in private consultations. Whenever it makes sense to do so, ask for a testimonial! A good way to get your customers to give one is to tell them what’s in it for them i.e. they will get free publicity in return for giving you one. You can also offer a free gift that is of value to your customers.
2. Make sure your testimonials are heartfelt. Testimonials that are from the heart and move people will get potential customers to buy your ebook. The best way to insure that they are heartfelt is to get them right away. Another way is to get candid ones by pulling them from emails people have sent you or comments they have made on teleseminars. (Always be sure to get permission to use them first.)
3. Use Testimonials From Experts In Your Field for third-party validation. Contact experts in your field and ask them for testimonials. They are usually very busy so they may ask you to write the first draft for them. If you do this, mirror their language. Find something in the ebook or product that ties into their area of expertise. And don’t feel bad if they don’t write it from scratch they won’t recommend it if they don’t believe in it-it’s their reputation on the line so it’s perfectly ethical!
4. Use a photo, audio and a full byline. A photo and audio make the testimonial more real. The more people connect to it the more likely they are to purchase your ebook. Also use a full byline because it gives the testimonial more credibility than if you just say T.S. from Texas!
5. Don’t use a clickable link on the byline because it will encourage potential customers to leave your site and then they may not come back and buy your ebook. You want to keep them on the page and focused on the task at hand-which is purchasing your ebook!
6. Take part of the testimonial that is juicy and turn it into a headline. That will draw the potential customer’s attention and help ramp up the excitement which leads to more sales.
7. Remind your customers to give you a testimonial because people don’t always think of it. Send them an email and ask them what they thought of your ebook. Then remind them that if they haven’t already given you a testimonial to please give one now. |
