Well, anyone that has been around the paid to read (ptr) world since the late 90's probably recalls some of the large programs that used to let you run advertising bars on your screen and get paid for it, and sometimes make 50% of what people you referred to the program made as a bonus!Well, ptr and referral programs have changed since the dot com crash. Earnings are lower for paid to read than they were for running those message bars, and you get a lower % of your referrals earnings. What this means is everyone wants to know how to get more referrals! Well here are some ways I have came up, the key is to be creative and make it fun for your referrals.
Okay, the first method is very basic, and has limited creativity I will admit. It is to offer your referrals a percentage of the moneythat you earn as your bonus for having them as referrals. To do this you can post offers on websites such as message boards like getpaidforum.com. This can be effective, but then again it's not a lot of fun for your referrals. How can you make it more fun?
The answer is competitions and contests. Have a competition where your top earning referral in the program you are advertising gets all the money they earn for you back that month from you. This will cause your referrals to all fight for the #1 spot. You can also give higher %'s than normal for places 2 through 5 to encourage more competition. But what if you've tried competitions and they haven't worked? What next?
Try contests. Instead of giving money to your referrals, offer them free ads, or do this in combination with the competition idea. Instead of basing it on earnings, just have a random drawing each month and select a few referrals to get free ads in the program you are advertising for them to join. This works best if you have an upgrade at that program where you get lots of monthly ads and don't always use them all each month.
Those are just a few ideas I've used in my marketing for referrals in ptr's and have had some success with. Will they work for you? I can't guarentee it, but why not give it a try. Maybe you can alter the ideas slightly to come up with something original. Remember if you offer something nobody else does, your offer will be more attractive. Good luck with your marketing for referrals for your ptr programs! |
